[AARP in Louisiana] AARP promotes and supports advocacy, education, and community service activities in states and communities. AARP works in both private and public sectors to improve the quality of life for our members and for all Americans as they grow older.

[Advocacy Center] The Advocacy Center (AC) is Louisiana's protection and advocacy system. Federal law requires that a protection and advocacy system operate in every state to protect the rights of persons with mental or physical disabilities. AC is also funded by the state to provide legal assistance to people residing in nursing homes in Louisiana, as well as to residents 60 years and older of Orleans, Plaquemines, Allen, and Calcasieu Parishes (counties); and to advocate for the rights of group home and nursing home residents. Among the diverse services offered are legal representation, information and referral, outreach and training.

advocating with and for all people with mental retardation and their families that they shall live to their fullest potential and serves to support the advocacy efforts of The Arc of the United States and local
chapters.

[Attention Deficit Disorders Association Southern Region] This page is used to assist anyone interested in information about ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder which will be referred to as ADD throughout this homepage) mainly for the states of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, or Arkansas but available to other areas. [Louisiana Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (OCDD)] OCDD is the agency through which the State of Louisiana provides supports and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. These disabilities include mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and other related conditions.
