[Department of
Housing and Community Affairs] - The Texas Department of Housing
and Community Affairs (TDHCA) is Texas' lead agency responsible for
affordable housing, community development and community assistance programs;
and regulation of the state's manufactured housing industry.
[Department
of Licensing and Regulation] - The Texas Department of Licensing
and Regulation (TDLR) is a state regulatory agency that currently oversees
fourteen types of businesses, industries, trades and occupations. The
agency is responsible for issuing licenses, conducting inspections,
investigating complaints, issuing penalties, setting rules and standards
and holding hearings.
[Department of
Mental Health and Mental Retardation] - the mission of TXMHMR is
to offer an array of services which respond to the needs of people with
mental illness and mental retardation and which enable them to make
choices that result in lives of dignity and increased independence."

[Department
of Protective and Regulatory Services] - The Texas Department of
Protective and Regulatory Services (PRS) was created with the passage
of House Bill 7 by the First Called Session of the 72nd Legislature.
The new PRS was charged with protecting children, adults who are elderly
or have disabilities living at home or in state facilities, and licensing
group day-care homes, day-care centers, and registered family homes.
[Health and Human
Services Commission] - The mission of the Health and Human Services
Commission is to provide the leadership and innovation needed to achieve
an efficient and effective health and human services system for Texans.
[Legislative Budget
Board] - The Texas Legislative Budget Board (LBB) is a permanent,
joint committee of the Texas Legislature that develops recommendations
for legislative appropriations for all agencies of state government.

Attorney General] OAG serves as the legal counsel to more than 300
boards and agencies of state government, issues legal opinions when
requested by the Governor, heads of state agencies and other officials
and agencies as provided by Texas statutes administers the various divisions,
sections and committees that make up the Office of the Attorney General

[Parks and Wildlife
Department] - Texas Parks and Wildlife provides outdoor recreational
opportunities by managing and protecting wildlife and wildlife habitat
and acquiring and managing parklands and historic areas.

is to assure the availability of safe, reliable, high quality services
that meet the needs of all Texans at just and reasonable rates.

[Texas
Commission for the Blind] - mission is to work in partnership with
Texans who are blind or visually impaired to reach their goals.
[Texas Department
of Health] - The Texas Department of Health believes that we can
make a difference to people as they raise their children to be healthy,

[Texas Legislative
Council] - The Texas Legislative Council (TLC) is a state agency
within the legislative branch. Functions performed by the TLC for the
senate and house of representatives include drafting bills and other
legislative documents, conducting legal and public policy research,
producing informational publications, and supporting a wide variety
of operations with information technology services.

Rehabilitation Commission] - TRC exists to assist people with disabilities
to participate in their communities by achieving employment of choice,
living as independently as possible and accessing high quality services.

[Abilities Exchange]
- Abilities Exchange is a volunteer organization with a little something
extra. Designed for people with disabilities who are living in the community,
it is also open to non-disabled people. Based on the idea that all people
have talents and abilities that they can share, Abilities Exchange offers
volunteers the opportunity to exchange their skills and talents for
services they need.

Aggieland] - listing of businesses in Bryan and College Station,
Texas, primarily hotels and restaurants, that are accessible to people
with disabilities.
[All Walks of Life]
- The site is designed for individuals, parents and professionals who
are moved to learn more about the dynamics of violent acts against people
with disabilities
[Any Baby Can of Austin]
- Any Baby Can of Austin provides support and advocacy for families
in Travis and Williamson Counties who are caring for a child with a
chronic illness or disability.
[Attention Deficit
Disorder Association-Southern Region] - our mission is to: provide
a resource network; support individuals impacted by attention deficit
disorders; advocate for the development of community resources and services
that meet the education, social, and health care needs of all individuals
with ADD/ADHD; and to keep the public informed on the disorder.
[Austin
Area Branch of The International Dyslexia Association] - The Austin
Area Branch (AABIDS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, scientific and educational
organization dedicated to the study and treatment of the learning disability,
dyslexia.
[Capital Area
Easter Seals] - The mission of Capital Area Easter Seals is to empower
children and adults with disabilities to live with independence, equality,
and dignity while striving to achieve their maximum potential.
[Children's Association
for Maximum Potential] - Children's Association for Maximum Potential
(CAMP) is a non-profit corporation established in 1979 to provide a
wide range of recreational, rehabilitative, educational, and respite
services for children with developmental disabilities and their families.

Consortium] - The Consortium is an independent group of statewide
advocacy organizations working for progressive public policy on behalf
of Texans with disabilities.
[Family Eldercare]
- A non-profit, United Way Agency serving older adults and persons with
disabilities in Austin, Texas and Travis County since 1982.
[Learning
Disabilities Association of Texas] - a nationally affiliated non-profit
parent/professional organization chartered in 1963 to promote the education
and general welfare of individuals with learning disabilities.
[Project I.N.S.P.I.R.E.]
- a comprehensive web site designed to promote appropriate physical
education for learners with disabilities
[Texans for the
Improvement of Long Term Care] - a non-profit organization that
advocates for the rights of any and all individuals, consumers or families,
involved in any kind of long term care.
[Texas Cancer Data
Center]provides information on health professionals, health facilities,
demographics and statistics, and community resources via the Internet
at no charge. TCDC is an information service, funded by the Texas Cancer
Council, dedicated to empowering Texans with the knowledge needed to
reduce the human and economic impact of cancer.
[ Texas Fiesta Educativa/Project
P.O.D.E.R ]- The mission of Texas Fiesta Educativa (TFE) is to advocate
for, and to provide bilingual English/Spanish) multicultural educational
services to Hispanic persons with disabilities, their families, and
the professionals who serve them.

opportunities for persons with disabilities
[Texas Mental Health Consumers]
- advocates for the rights of all Texans served by the Mental Health
Delivery System
[Texas Mental
Health Consumers Nueces County Peer Support Group] - the mission
of Texas Mental Health Consumers is to encourage, educate, train, and
organize people who have received services, voluntarily or involuntarily,
from the mental health system to advocate for themselves and to support
each other
[Texas
Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities] - The Council works
to create change so all people are fully included in their communities
and exercise control over their own lives.
[Texas Respite
Resource Network] - Respite services provide short term relief to
families who have a member with a disability. Within our site, these
families, professionals who work with them, and the community who wishes
to help can find resources and information. TRRN is the state of the
art clearinghouse and technical assistance network for respite in Texas.
[Texas School for the
Blind and Visually Impaired] - a center for educational services
for blind and visually impaired students in Texas.
[Texas State
Independent Living Center - The mission of the Texas State Independent
Living Council is to promote the philosophy of independent living and
to promote the expansion of quality consumer directed independent living
service programs statewide.
[The Arc
of the Capital Area] - The Arc's mission is to support people with
mental retardation and developmental disabilities to realize their vision
of participation in the community.
[The Arc of Dallas]
- The Arc of Dallas, founded in 1951, is dedicated to improving the
quality of life of people with mental retardation and related developmental
conditions. Services include in-home and site-based respite care, individual
advocacy, information and referral, parent/professional education, continuing
education for adults with developmental disabilities, and social and
leadership activities.
[The Arc of
Texas] - The Arc of Texas, a nonprofit volunteer organization, is
committed to expanding opportunities for people with mental retardation
and other developmental disabilities to be included in their communities.
The Arc of Texas supports families, advance public policies, provides
training programs and builds a statewide network of advocates.
[ The Center for Computer
Assistance to the Disabled] - The Center for Computer Assistance
to the Disabled, Inc (Dallas) is a unique non-profit organization whose
mission is "enhancing the quality of life and employment options of
persons with disabilities through the use of modified personal computers,
adaptive devices, and custom software".
[United Cerebral
Palsy of the Capital Area] - United Cerebral Palsy Association of
the Capitol Area, Inc. (UCPA/CA) is a private, non-profit organization
providing quality, individualized, community-based services for children
and adults with disabilities.
[University Affiliated
Program at UT/Austin] - The mission of the Texas UAP is to serve
as a catalyst so that people with developmental, and other disabilities,
are fully included in all levels of their communities and in control
of their lives.
